Video #5 How to Toilet Train Your Cat, Starring CoCoBean the Ragdoll Kitty (Learning to Flush)

This is the 5th video in the CoCoBean the Ragdoll Kitty's Toilet Training Series. CoCoBean is now 6 months old and has made great progress toward complete litter box freedom so I thought it was time that he learned to flush. He picked it up pretty quickly using clicker training. The next challenge is to get his timing down, i.e., linking the flush to post-toilet use ONLY! I just got my water bill and if I didn't know better, I'd think he's been practicing ALL day while I'm at work! Now he occasionally flushes spontaneously in hopes of a treat when he doesn't know how else to get me to give him a click/treat.

I should have listened to everyone who told me not to teach him to flush because now he does it all the time! Better to teach him how to go #1 & #2 in the toilet and then flush for him-beats scooping a litter box! If you want to teach your cat tricks, try clicker training. Yahoo has a good group. They also have a cat toilet training group. Good luck!
