Well the school bell rang and I thought and I thought as the bus carried me across town
I got out my pencil and my notebook pad and this is what I wrote down

The next day in history class, I put my paper on the teacher's desk
Then she called me up in front of everyone, because she said she liked mine the best
As I walked up to the head of the class, my teacher smiled and she nodded at me
Then I saw a tear roll down her cheek as I began to read

I was at home reading through the news, just the other day
When I ran across my old teacher's name and I saw that she had passed away

The south fought and died for what the stood for it wasn't about slavery or hate it was for freedom we didnt want to be part of the union. Yet we still egt atatcked when we wanted to be left. And i dont get it we get critizied for being brave and having pride in our heritage. We get treated uneducated and like raciest when the civil war wasn't even about slavery. It was about the south wanting freedom the north used slavery to cover up their attack on us. So now you tell me who is at fault.

I'm an Indiana boy, but heck, I know exactly what the Confederacy stood up for, I've got 2 CSA flags in my room, along with an officers saber. It wasn't about slavery or anything like that, they just wanted a life that Lincoln wouldn't allow. And if you don't get what you want through peaceful talks, that's when a war will break out. And Lincoln was dumb and stubborn enough to start a war.

Goofy yankee person you don't even kno the story so keep ur mouth shut the hole thing started around 1830 with taxes. And I think president lincoln was honestly one of the worst presidents we ever had. People say he was great just because u of the emancipation but what else was so great. He ordered sherman to kill anyone including women and children on his march. The south was wrongfuly accused of starting the war but they were pushed to the point were they had to get away from it all
