  • The black cylinder is the column, which is the same column in the base (the star base with the wheels. You have to hammer out that column. Your right about the green gas cylinder button. That goes into the chair towards your butt.

  • @iRonlMoNKleY You were right on, by the way. The column was in so tight, that I thought it was actually molded... but with a heavy rubber mallet, I was able to bang it out. It took a LOT of banging.

    It must be there for the adjustment lever.

    And about the base, well, that shaft must be taken off by releasing bushings from below the legs, that 5 star thing... otherwise if it won't go in after than it's a mismatch and you got yourself a wrong gas cylinder
