As a Canadian I would have to say did Cuba, Russia, Chile and China make their people more prosperous with socialism??? To me the democratic countries left them in the dust. Plus as a Canadian we have free health care and social nets for the poor without having a dictatorship!!! Yes Bush is bad but he is getting kicked out in a year, your changes will be there forever!!!

I think your argument is weak because I could point out many more Democratic countries which have failed, it doesn't mean Democracy is unsuccessful. Look at how relatively new and hated Communism is - embargoes, black propaganda - of course it hasn't prevailed over democracy... yet.

Look at China, in about a decade it will be the number one power in the world; some European countries are turning Socialist.

Communism doesn't mean dictatorship.

Have you seen economic figures? Unemployment records? Those programs are aimed to help the poor get something, but to keep them poor as well. Without poor people there's no use for his revolution. He's keeping them like that to have someone to buy off for his rallies. check: answers . google . com / answers / threadview? id = 589189
