MAY 21 2011 IS JUDGEMENT DAY!
"How Much I Owe" an old time conservative Christian recording.

When this passing world is done
When has sunk yon glaring sun

When we stand with Christ in glory
Looking o'er life's finished story

Then Lord shall I fall in awe
Not til then, how much I owe.

When I stand before the throne
dressed in beauty not my own

When I see Thee as Thou art
Love Thee with unsinning heart

Then Lord shall I fall in awe.
Not til then, how much I owe.

Chosen not for good in me
Wakened up from wrath to flee

Hidden in the Saviour's side
By the Spirit sanctified

Teach me Lord on earth to show
by my love, how much I owe.

  • Judgement Day is coming, no doubt. But it didn't come May 21, 2011. You might want to edit your comment above. Thank you for posting this wonderful song. Respectfully, LC

  • @MustangLeaf2010 The melody was written by Brother Mark Webb, pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Olive Branch, Mississippi. You may know that the lyrics were written by Robert Murray M'Cheyne, Scottish pastor. This rendering only has a few of the many verses. One of the most powerful verses reads: "When I hear the wicked call, on the rocks and hills to fall, when I see them start and shrink, on the fiery deluge brink, then, Lord, shall I fully know, but not 'til then, how much I owe."

  • Can someone tell me who wrote this arrangement (tune)? I have it heard it to this tune before and it is beautiful, but I cannot find the sheet music. Thanks.

  • Thanks for posting this classic! The usual melody is different, but this is the one I sought! If I'm not mistaken it was written by Mark Webb, a Sovereign Grace Baptist pastor in Mississippi, a very godly and gifted brother.

  • @cormark13 it is actually the correct lyrics being used..the actual hymn is written by Robert McCheyne you could check out the original lyrics

  • I'm pretty sure the words are "Then, Lord, shall I FULLY KNOW, not till then how much I owe." But beautiful song.
