Entertainment For Musicians presents:

A double shot of songs from Awake. The Mirror and Lie, considered one song by Dream Theater and fans. Some say The Mirror is the first in the Alcoholics Anonymous suite of songs that Mike Portnoy has been writing songs about. Officially part one is The Glass Prison, but some believe The Mirror to be a prelude to that lengthy project that is not finished yet.

Credit goes to Jeremy of the Tabit Network. He painstakingly tabbed out every note and drum of both of these entire songs. Huge props go out to him and all his work over there. As you can see these songs are 14 minutes combined.

This is a MIDI file!!! It is played through my sound card which is employing raw sound wave files for each note that is played. So essentially the song is being played by ACTUAL instruments instead of computer based instruments (which we all know don't sound so well)

  • Wow, someone actually said all their drum beats sound the same? Have you ever actually listened to a Dream Theater song? Mike Portnoy is one of the greatest drummers in history. Second youngest drummer inducted into the Drummer Hall Of Fame. Know what your talking about before you comment.

Also, ACDC is actually very easy to play. They are an incredible band, and talented, but no where near as skilled as DT.

  • Lol this sounds like Guitar Pro =))

  • Sounds a little odd, but yeah it's DT, so it's still awesome. The software used to make this must be awesome too!

  • howeffingfake.

  • Cant you all just respect eachothers opinions and there no fucking need to swear lmao =D

  • /watch?v=P-k2JSZd_Qw

    just copy the fucking link.

  • Sounds so so bad...

  • It's like an instrumental version with a sort of 8 bit overlay of their song "Lie" from half way on.... it's good because lie is an excellent song (nothing on home or octavarium) and its interesting to hear it like this...

  • Songs raped by roadcheesecalls :(((

  • @supergay32 May I inquire as to how you believe this? Yes, Angus is an amazing guitarist, but there is few that can match up to Petrucci. DT is much, much more talented. Yes, AC/DC is more widely recognized, but let's face it, 80's rock only made it big because it was new and rebellious. We now have mainstream metal and the standards are higher. DT is definitely more talented, however I enjoy both and I listen to both.

  • @gnrfan11 Saying that DT is better musicians then AC/DC is a really ignorant opinion.
