  • Did the Pothos end up living?

  • @flyinggimpproduction oh my god yes. they are almost up to the ceiling...

  • why do people put plants in filters?

  • @KETIMENE It removes the last stage of the nitrogen cycle, nitrates.

  • @KETIMENE and as I have also recently learned it helps to remove ammonia and nitrites which are even more harmful for the fish.

  • Aquaponics. Grow vegetables with a gravel grow bed and a bell siphon valve. I'm growing lettuce with a 10 gallon tropical tank. Grow bed is 1'x1'x2' filled with 3/4" river gravel. Also about a 10 gallon pot for a sump. The chop 2 system. Basic carpentry skill to build the grow bed and plastic pond liner. Plumbing skill to route the water and build the siphon. Hardest part for me was making the bulkheads.

  • I like your plant method filtration. I might give it a try if i can get my hands on small filters for my 10.
