Coach Nicole of SparkPeople.com demonstrates how to do lunges with a stability ball and dumbbells (optional). This is a great lower body exercise to target the thighs (quads, hamstrings) and butt (glutes). Using a ball improves your form and helps you get more out of this strength exercise.
Thanks so much. You give me hope that I can do this without hurting my knees. Yeah!!!

Love this one lots and even have started to add front (shoulder) dumbbell raises to it to work more muscles!

Good form and engaging the correct muscles is much more effective than doing say 16 quickly. Good for you! I am also up to 7-8 now with 4.5 lb dumbbells.

I have always had a hard time doing lunges. I can't do them as fast as on the video, but I did 6 on each side with good form and was able to go all the way to the floor. I have never been able to do that.

hmm, I got two 2kg dumbbells, and I think there's a stability ball somewhere around here, I might give this one a try.
