I was a disbeliever myself. I recently bought a giant anthem x1 29er. I have 2 26" specialized, a stumpy fsr and a enduro sl expert and I can't even ride them anymore. 29 is the way to go. I only noticed improvements. I hae no problems in switchbacks. Bike climbs better than any other bike that I've owned. Descending isn't any different, if anything I feel more controlled. Plus it's my first time with a tubeless setup and that made a huge diff too.
You sound like a Filipino accent, are you? Anyway am still not convinced that 29'er is way better than 26'er. But I love to try it in a single track in North wales or lake district.
does any one know if i can put longer travel forks on my alloy marin bolinas ridge frame as it has spinner300s on with 100mm travel and they are not great.
Being an owner of a Blur I had to try the Tallboy. Holy Cow!! This thing is amazing and is a massive step up. It steamrolls over roots rocks much better than the 26" Blur and the handling is dead-on Santa Cruz. To top it off, it's lighter than my Blur and has much better traction with the contact patch of the 29" wheels. Simply an amazing bike that has to be ridden to be believed.
@soobeng Most of XC racing is converting to 29er now. Once the weight is kept down to under 23 lbs. These 29ers are faster in most courses. Willow Koerber was Top 20 racer for a long time on 26er. She's now on a 29er and Top 3 even in Worlds.
