I noticed your method is a bit different than most side saddle strokes I’ve seen. It appears you are looking at the ball when you make contact. Most side saddle putters are looking at the hole when they make contact. Using your rolling a ball analogy: you would be looking at the target when releasing the ball not your hand as you roll it...

Does the USGA have a problem with the shaft at 90 degrees? I know the putter design rules call for a minimum of 10 degree angle from the vertical.
