I don't think resident evil was ever supposed to be anything other than action and gore.

It had a slightly deeper message that was large corporations should never be above the law, regardless of how big they get.

Silent Hill, for me, was always supposed to be about the human mind and how we do our best to overcome our fear for the sake of our loved ones.

Two totally different games, two different stories. They should not be compared.

Why do you trying to compare RE and SH? Different games, both great. And if you think that RE is bad just try to remember the "First zombie" scene in RE1... This was one of the most epic things I ever saw.

@Pangyarthur it wasn't B in no concept. it had its own gripping story. it just switched to more action type gameplay [i don't know how anyone else, but i enjoyed combat more than puzzles] as for too muscular protagonists, nobody bitched about terminator looking like muscleblob nor saying terminator being B. and it isn't that much overdone, Chris just got to train.

in silent hill 2...it showed that the town wasnt crazy...there wasnt really any monsters...it was just a vision of james's self-concious...i mean remember luara the little girl running around the town without a hitch...well she wasnt seeing what james was seeing...though james seemed sane...in retrospect he was not..he was as crazy as a person in a mental ward...and to me that means alot more than a town filled with monsters and some cult trying to bring back God or whatever..best.game.ever
