This documentary is the story of Kenya's unsung heroes who carry forward the tradition of the thousands of nameless freedom fighters of Kenya's long path to liberation. Those who have fought tirelessly in the forest, in the streets and in their homes to make a better nation.
The names of these foot soldiers are often obscured from documented history but remain revered in the quiet stories of our grand parents and the whispered songs of our communities. This documentary is a small attempt to record the contribution of ten of Kenya's community activists who daily resist oppression and dare to build alternatives.
These change makers were part of the 2010-11 Fahamu pan African fellowship programme.
From Kenya to Senegal, Tanzania and Rwanda this is their journey.
