LOL my algaue eater does that for me, he just goes on my turtles back and does the job

if you use spring water in your tank (clean regularly) but use a feeding tank (empty daily & fill with same temp water thats in their tank) your turtle should stay free of algae. dont hold them, just transfer them to their feeding tank for an hour or 2 a day. i love my turtles and i will respect them to do whats best for them

Some kinds of algae can grow under the scales and harm the turtle. That happened to my turtle. She acted really sick and I cleaned her shell with Dove and a soft toothbrush and she brightened up almost immediately after.

As long as their enclosure is kept free of algae, then the turtle will become algae free.
