@FromJennyxx I like your way of looking at it. I kind of saw the hospital as the afterlife or "limbo" and the exit was death. The people that make it to the exit die and the ones that get eaten are saved; however the people that can't find the exit AND don't get caught end up being stuck in "limbo" forever. This episode is a pretty good demonstration of what we stereotypically picture the afterlife to be like along with some really creative metaphors.

I think I kinda get it... He almost reached the exit, which is 'death', but the zombie doctor things caught him, and he didn't die... And the zombie thingies were, like, the sorrows and hardships of life? 0.0 So in the end, he couldn't run away from real life? 0.0

@MrMarkman12345 it makes sense, they brain needed a shock to start again, if he had made it out, he would have died, but the fear shocked his body and started him up again, kinda like a lawn mower, if he had opened the door = stop pulling string, if he got caught = try harder and harder to pull the string till finally the lawn mower kicks on .
