I know it's called the "walky" dog but would you only be able to go slow on your bike with that or would i have to get the bike tow leash to have my dog run with me?

can you put a Gentle leader (head harnest) on the dog while biking with a walkydog?
-
is it legal to do this in NY?

@mxcnprd10 your dog is pulling because you let him. and he needs atleast an hour of fast walikng or a good run. i have a 2 and a half year old yellow lab and she follows me wherever i go, she bikes with me without a leash she just learned how to be next to me when working out. WALK YOUR DOG FOR ATLEAST AN HOUR AND GIVE YOUR DOG SOME RULES WHILE WALKING AND I PROMISE YOU SHE WILL STOP PULLING.

I have a 1 year old Golden who had this problem, what I used was a chain (choke) collar at the crest (top) of the neck and it worked, used it for a few weeks (2-3) and now she walks perfectly with just a normal nylon collar.

Haltie.
does it have emergency break-away feature?

The WalkyDog does not have this feature. A breakaway feature is nice in theory, but could lead to your dog coming loose in a dangerous area and getting injured. The WalkyDog keeps your dog close enough to your bike and sticks out from a high enough point to prevent issues with fire hydrants or telephone polls. I like knowing that my dog is secure. I have never had an issue in the 2 years I have been biking my dog. Thanks for the comment. Have a nice day.

Hey, I have a 15 month old Lab, that weights about 70 pounds !
When we walk together, he pulls really hard !!!
I have a bike, and I don't know if this product will help me. I'm afraid I'm gonna tip over in my bike, if he catches a smell in the neighbors yard.

My dog is a similar size and a very strong puller. Check out some of the other videos on my channel. The WalkyDog does an excellent job in my opinion of absorbing the shock when a dog pulls out to the side because of the internal springs. You can adjust these internal springs for dogs of various pulling power.

I tried not to bike with my dog for a long time coz I know it will damage his paws since he doesn't have tough hard paws. He is still young...only up to 5-10 minutes bike on a fast pace. He likes it though since I don't have an hour a day to walk him. Drain his energy and will sleep right away as soon as we get home. But this is interesting stuff.

You are smart to monitor your dog's pad wear since he is younger. We suggest limiting the amount of time riding on asphalt until your dog's paws are conditioned to this - when it is very hot we suggest not riding on asphalt at all. This is the case when walking your dog as well. There is a product called Musher's Secret paw pad wax that helps to protect and condition the dog's paws. I use this and like it
