If you're not big on the flavour of the giblets (and have a pet) you can make cat or dog biscuits (or food) out of them!! You can add other scraps like carrot/potato peels (if you peel your vegetables, I don't), then you add flour, maybe an egg, depending on consistency, squish it all into a dough, then cut it into shapes and bake it!

Turkey's skeleton's rice. Put the turkey's skeleton and leftovers in the crock pot. Add water, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, curry. Cook. The broth is ready when the meat has come out of the bones. Take out the bones and use the broth and meat to cook rice. You may add raisins, some more salt & pepper while cooking it. Serve.

Giblets & bread Pudding. Soak bread leftovers in a mixture of milk, wine, some sugar, vanilla. Add raisins & olives if you want. Cook it at mild temperature (you may use the crock pot). Once the bread is cooked, on apart, chop scallions, garlic & giblets. Add salt, pepper, cumin. Fry. Then mix with the bread and put it in the oven just to roast it on the top. Enjoy it warm or cold.

just so happens I'm cooking a turkey tomorrow. I would never dream of throwing them away, especially when I have cats!! But I like to use some of it in gravy.

Here in rich Scottsdale, Arizona we had a giblet shack called Gibbys. Giblets, hearts, livers, gizzards, were the specialty. They made a giblet Po,Boy that was the bomb with their own homemade coleslaw. I miss that place, it was so cheap, but pretty healthy and showed me that the 'throw away' meat can taste pretty darn good.

You can make giblet gravy for your mashed potatoes!! Yum!! Also, don't forget to take all the bones from your turkey or chicken and boil them in water along with the outer skins from your onions, a few "past their prime" carrots, the leafy tops of your celery and a little salt and pepper to make some delicious home made broth!!
