jesse reno painting animation - like and love - start to finish

this video documents jesse reno's painting process, as he creates a painting from start to finish in his natural style and technique. painting layer over layer as he searches for just the right feeling, composition, meaning, and colors he needs to see to call a painting finished. through out the video there are still shots that hold every so often to help the viewer better see the piece as it emerges durring its process. the finished piece is called - the difference between like and love - this refers to liking a painting durring the process and loving it when it is finished..

the video was shot over the course of 4 days, in the course of aproximatly 36 hrs. it was all shot as a series of still photographs adding up to approximatly 8,000 photos. wisa knuuttila shot all the photos and assembled them into the animation. jesse reno created the painting as well as composed, recorded, and produced all the music and re edited the photos to the music into the video you see and hear.

Love your work!! I was wondering if you are using non-toxic paints when you work with your hands. ..or is that even a consideration? I would love to know what brand of paint you use. Love to hear your thoughts.

me too. best raw artist i've seen in my lifetime. What amazes me is that what I would have called "complete" at 3' or 4:40', he keeps on going...it's layer upon layer upon layer. amazing.
