At Downstage Theatre from 2 Jun 2009
Shakespeare as you never seen it before.
This tragic tale of revenge, betrayal, jealousy and love comes alive in modern-day Polynesia. A play that portrays Othello as the only palagi character in a brown society, driven by the cunning manipulations of the malignant Iago. A fast-paced heartbreaking drama performed by one of New Zealands newest Polynesian theatre groups.
Directed by Michelle Johansson

Or why don't you all simply do the ORIGINAL play as Shakespeare wrote it & simply have ERIE DINGO, TOMMY LEWIS OR SOME OTHER ABORIGINAL AUSTRALIAN ACTOR PLAY OTHELLO SINCE OTHELLO WAS A BLACK NORTH AFRICAN PRINCE & ABORIGINES, UNLIKE POLYNESIANS, ARE ACTUALLY BLACK.
