None of us should be buying paper silver, buy paper silver and you don't own it, you have a piece of paper that says you do. Buy physical all the time every time.

Is there anyway to change the value of what money is worth by allowing it to purchase more or less of something?

Yeah... you'll be alright for sure. I am 25 and have been buying precious metals for the past 4 years. I would be very happy sitting with 200 gold oz... Nice work preserving your wealth.

Is there anyway to change the value of what money is worth by allowing it to purchase more or less of something? That way changing the value based on our current situation? Just something i'm throwing out there without too much thought behind it. Enlighten me.

@DasoMonster Yes, When you can control the number of dollars in circulation you control the purchasing power. The more dollars you have chasing the things for sale the more you can bid prices higher and cause others to also pay more. (look at the real estate bubble) The federal Reserve has no choice but to continue creating more and more dollars based on the interest payment which is growing exponentially. The dollar is mathematically doomed. Buy metal!

I've been considering taking our 401K and just liquidating it regardless of the hit from the Tax parasites and converting it to Silver. I really don't seeing it surviving even 2 more years without going totally worthless as the stock market collapses and the dollar is more valuable as kindling for the community fire. We are just turning 40 so there is some risk but not huge, and we do have some gold ounces and many more silver ounces already. Any thoughts?

@ChewyBees You have to think performance. What is going to perform the best in the next 10 years. The price of the metals can stay the same and still outperform everything else. I'm trading my Silver for Real Estate someday as my purchasing power is sure to increase. There's no way a 401K is going to outperform inflation. But you might want to consult a pro.
