Depends what you definition of 'Classic Metallica' is, mate. They started using EMG's after '...And Justice For All' - Before then it was Seymour duncan JB's, Invaders etc. by the way man, back off the treble and mids just a tad, you've got that awful hissing thing going on, boost your bass too.
Ive had my midnight fr about 9months. I play ina hard rock band, yes awesome for heavy music, but also wild for cleans too. Especially on the neck pickup. Really smooth. For what you pay its totally worth it!

That guitar is a pretty big slab of Mahogany, I think It would sound a lot better with a Duncan or a Dimarzio in it - check out bareknuckles also.

This is one of the best guitars epiphone has made its quality and it stands up well to my gibson les paul

people always complain about epiphones... epiphones are great. i totally agree, theres nothing cheap about the instrument. its built very well.
