@Aarontlondon - And yet you're STILL an idiot about track. The WR in 1960 was 22.9 and Rudolph ran 24.0 in the olympic final on a CINDER track out of lane ONE and into a swirling headwind...
As for your opinion of it being 'slow', what you obviously don't realize is that women's track in the US was a virtual afterthought, with little competent coaching. The times improved rapidly AFTER her victory because they saw the potential of female athletes. Wilma opened the door for future generations.

Wilma Rudolph ran personal bests of 11.0 and 22.9, in the 100m and 200m back in 1960............................ON A DIRT TRACK. Only an idiot would laugh at that.
