@ThunderChunky01 i agree my hs band played this for alabama hs band contest 1962
this tempo seems slow but that may be 49years of memory
we had 7th &8th grade members we recieved all superior ranking (4-ones)

Yeah, demanding trumpet part. However, I play bass clarinet and it's an AWFULLY repetitive part for low reeds.

@jslasher1 Well, you knew him better than I, but speaking as a composer - having anyone pay to perform your music, spread it to new ears and try their best to do your work justice even after you have passed - THAT necessitates pride and joy. I shudder to think someone your age would criticize a band for trying to do that.

Plymouth State in Vermont. It's a mix of students/faculty. Not a music-specific college =P.
