  • do any of y'all know how many NJT ACL deadhead goes up and down to the MMC on weekends?

  • LMAO well while were at it find someone to run an MP20 see how that does!

  • Nice, Ill make a few phone calls. I think Okayfine may wanna join in on this as well. He could probably beat us there in the SW1500 though hahaha.

  • Hey if the bosses will let us do it I'm down! Last one to Hoboken buys the beers. ;) lol

  • How long have you been an NJT engineer? And I dont think were going to have this discussion on a youtube comments page.

Next time your down the MMC lets get out a GP40PH and a PL lite and drag race.

  • Yea only on the ACES trains. Sometimes we run a P40 on a regular run.

  • FAST ACCELERATION!?!?!?! LMFAO Are you a NJT engineer? You must not be. I am buddy and let me tell you these are the slowest POS on the railroad. A Geep will out accelerate a PL any day. As for the Fuel comment what I ment by that is that the Bay Head trains must travel from Union tower to Dock on the NEC to get to Hoboken where they are fueled. That is a much greater distance ON THE NEC then from Hunter to Dock. More of a chance that one of them will have a frigin brain fart and break down.

  • and ALP-44

  • Most of that is untrue. Amtrak has let NJT run many PL test trains on the NEC and they for a few weeks in febuarary, ran PL42s with a raritan type consist down the coast line. There really is no reason to send them down there cuz the terrain is pretty flat and no need for high speeds and fast acceleration that they provide. They are better utilized on the hilly hoboken side and going up the mountain to High Bridge. The PL has 2,600 gallon tank which is 100 more than a Geep. Fuel is NOT an issue.

  • Well there still are none of these POS down in Bay Head............yet. Word is Amtrak doesnt want them running for long distances on their trackage. On the RV they are only on the NEC for a mile or so. Bay Head trains have to fuel in Hoboken which is a further distance on the NEC.
