  • Or you could just place an ACTUAL Tv in front of the person...

  • @crazyitalian521 Like I said in the video, we tried that but it wasn't bright enough. Plus with using the Arri light, we were able to have a lot more control over the look of the "TV".

  • Was that a prime lens on the 5d? If so, how did you attach it?

  • @CGRFilmsStudios I was using a Zeiss ZF 28mm f2.0 with a Nikon to Canon adapter.

  • i Watch pom Thumbs Up if yo read it wrong !

  • Something I thought, is that if you have a big tv, like 42", you could also create an animation where all the screen would change from one color to another. This way, the effect would be alot more visible.

  • Just a little observation. The Arri light looks to be too far to camera left. If the camera is standing in as the TV, then the Arri light should have been right behind the camera and facing the man on the couch. In the actual shot the strongest portion of the light is too far left. Great technique though. Again, just an observation.

  • Thanks man.

  • Amazing who would have thought of using that effect with no TV. The lighting is perfect and natural. Great job :)

  • Very, very good!!!

  • Have you seen Vincent Laforet technique for this effect..

he used photoshop to create coloured slides and played them by connecting a laptop to the tv ... there is a video of this somewhere but cant find it, but thought it was an excellent idea if you dont have arris

  • @NextWaveG Amen to that

  • I have a question. It may have been asked before. Are there any downfalls to using an actual tv? For example if I make a video of bright colors alternating, and then play that video on the TV so it plays in front of the actor on loop as I film my scene, are there any potential problems with that?

  • these tips are great. i just got an internship with my town counsel shooting commercials with businesses that are part of the commerce and these tips will come handy when shooting. SUBSCRIBING!
