In summer of '61 I was hanging outside a real live "sock hop" at a school gym - I was not allowed in because I was 7 years old but since it was a hot summer day the doors were open. Somebody showed up with this new record by Gary US Bonds. The DJ put it on and the room went nuts. It was like Bandstand but kicked up a notch.

Still looks so handsome...Thank you for posting...I know this was probably in the late seventies but the guy still had charisma...Video took my way back as a child and reignited the crush I had on this great rock n roll singer...

Sax player is Screamin Steve Barlotta. He was Gary's Musical Director from 1987-1998.He is now in the popular RnB band the Sensational Soul Cruisers.
