This new video has been released by the inquest into Ian Tomlinson's death.

Mr Tomlinson was an innocent bystander at the G8 protests in the City of London on 1 April 2009, who was killed by a policeman when he tried to walk home, but was stopped by the Metropolitan Police's use of the "kettling" tactic to contain the protestors.

The policeman who killed Ian Tomlinson has never been charged, despite film evidence showing beyond doubt that he launched an unprovoked attack from behind, confirmed by the new film.

Considerable concern was expressed following Ian Tomlinson's death about the use of "kettling", but the police have contiued to use it on numerous occasions, most notably at the students anti-cuts protests in October 2010, when it was once again very widely criticised.
