Tiger Sharks of the Aliwal Shoal 1 trying to eat me.

Diving with the famous Tiger Sharks of the Aliwal Shoal from Umkomaas near Durban. Had 4 large 4 meter tiger sharks and aroung 40 black tip sharks flitting in and out. One of the Tigers took quite a fancy to me and made a bee line towards me whenever it was close. It would swim underneath me and then raise its body so that it picked me up by my feet and raised me in the water. The safety diver had to come over 3 times to push it out of the way before the bugger ate me.
This was a really special dive as it is the first time I have ever seen a tiger shark, let alone 4 of them and they are such beautiful creatures and so curious. And yes I know they're only checking if we are edible or not.
2 days after I did this dive, an illegal fishing boat came and killed around 7 tiger sharks and a number of black tips. We think that most or all of the tiger sharks in this video are now dead although we cannot be sure.

Caught a tiger shark at the 20 mile wreck off of Cape May, NJ. He was about 16 feet in length, must have weighed about fifteen hundred pounds. Fought the fellow for about an hour and a half, than cut the line and set him free. He was quite the formidible friend. We were actually hunting for Makos at the time. Since we were trolling, he must have been a quite healthy tiger. They are usually much slower than Makos and don't attack on fast moving baits.
