In 1996, just after Crowded House's Farewell to the World Concert lead singer Neil Finn was asked what he planned to do next. He replied:
"I'm trying to embark on a record that doesn't rely on guitar, bass and drums for its textures. I said to somebody in England flippantly that I was trying to do something Psychedelic-Gothic-Pacific and I found myself listening to things I'd done and thinking, that sounds a bit Psychedelic-Gothic-Pacific. Now if I could only find a way of shortening the words it might become a useful adjective."
This collection attempts to realize that vision using songs that were known to be written and recorded during that early post-breakup period.
Part I Includes the songs "Summer Intro", "You Don't Know", and "Identical Twin".
this whole edit is awesome! any chance of it being available to download? great work!
