  • I don't care for religion. No doubt that Jesus had some good points about how to treat each other right, but my main problem are all the relious hocus pocus. Today that is not nessesary. You can actually be treating other people well, without being relious, so why not cut the bull about a god.

BTW I also hate those religious peoples "taboos". You ask a religious person about something, and you will get an answer that was true 2000 years ago.

  • @MsPwain: Read C J Werleman, His book "God Hates you Hate him Back" is a humorus look at all the BS and contradictions in the old Bible Book.

  • My Dad has the entire TV debate on an old video cassette, he's a Python worshipper, i'll try and get it on here

  • @JanineRobin: Wow, if you get it on dvd or avi maybe we could do a swap?

let us know how you get on :)

  • @MsPwain: Wow, you people...

There sits Muggeridge, one of the most brilliant minds of the last century, defending Christianity. And you poor soul, not even capable of spelling the word "religious" correctly, think you can mock him and his convictions and babble out nonsense about something true not being true anymore because of the passing of a certain amount of years.

This is so shockingly bizarre, I don´t know whether I should laugh out loud or weep about it.

  • Watching idiots like the Bishop talk makes me genuinely depressed.

  • @Birdieupon You should always, in every situation, have "the intention" to show good manners. And no, I do not retract my statement about Muggeridge; in fact I reiterate it, as I have seen what England has become with his type no longer around. PS. I am not "very religious" but the Crucifixion scene in the movie was in unspeakably bad taste.

  • @CastleIvanhoe

"the Bishop was defending his Church. Show some manners."

I've no intention of showing manners simply because he was "defending his church".

...if he'd done a GOOD JOB at defending his church, then I would have more respect for him.

As it stands, you may want want to retract your statement about him being "the best England has seen", because we should all be very worried if that's actually true.

  • @Birdieupon Muggeridge was a brilliant man, the best England has seen (and I do not agree with all of his religious views), the Bishop was defending his Church. Show some manners.

  • @MsPwain i reas you comment in a john cleese voice, i agree btw

  • This is good, but there is an almost complete copy of the programme at:

    Watch?v=DCarG9im8C4

    It puts it in context.

The Holy flying circus video is at:

    Watch?v=7Q0UMmninRs

  • It's Mervyn Stockwood not Stockwell

  • This debate is brilliantly depicted in Holy Flying Circus. I'd recommend anyone to watch it :)

  • @PencilsAreAwesome Nope it's on iPlayer
