This video will show you how to disable Windows Vista's User Account Control, or UAC. The UAC is that box that constantly pops up saying "Windows Needs Your Permission To Run, Do You want to Continue?". Be advised that Microsoft does not advise this, because it may allow some programs to run without your permission. If you are OK with this, then feel free to follow these steps to get rid of the annoyance.

  • hey tinkernut, I know this video is kind of old but I just wanted to point out that uac is the only thing that blocks viruses like Metasploit's meterpreter from using scripts like getsystem or runhashdump to gain system privs.

  • LOL I knew that. You need a pass to change it though not helpfull

  • now on 13 seconds on this video that box comes up but my continue button is always frozen

  • I have a problem . I cant run some exe files

It will say you do not have the appropriate permission to access this item .please help me

  • Vista sucks with the uac on. You pretty much have to use a blank solid color wallpaper. Use windows classic look. And anymore then 2 windows open crashes. Turning uac off make vista usable.

  • LOL I knew that...

  • Guys, don't disble UAC, it's a stupid thing to do.
