This video is a tribute to San Francisco Supervisor Harvey Milk and Mayor George Moscone, who were assassinated in City Hall by ex-Supervisor Dan White, on November 27th, 1978. The White Night Riots erupted when White's conviction was announced. Instead of first degree murder, he was found guilty of voluntary manslaughter.

    This is excellent: Song and album concept coming with history lessons. Although I knew about these murders, and lived in San Francisco for more than a decade, I had not realized White got off on manslaughter. Also, this video shows images of a city that was just so diverse and liberal in its feel. The City seems so conservative now, I can't even picture it having a gay mayor again. It's all about money now. I caught only the tail end of the glory days.
