@auskindian The problem is that it's blatant racism.. I'm white and I can't net. In fact I can't hardly keep a fish off Mille lacs lake because of the netting quotas. They've put such tight restrictions on anglers that it has become a joke to fish there. That is why all the businesses are going out. The lake does NOT belong to the indians, and it does NOT belong to me. Racism will always be alive and well as long as the federal government keeps nursing it.

The economy here is facing the same circumstances in regards to sportfishing, gas prices, diesel prices, motel prices, fishing trip prices, etc. are deterring tourists from venturing here for a fishing trip. Don't blame it on natives and nets !!! You are all fools !! The native Oijibwe have more rights to these waters than any of us white outsiders
