I bought this exact model yesterday. Eight thumbs up. Liked it sooooo much I bought another today. Can't beat the price....and in response to the question (from 6 months ago) it works along the bar, not just on the tip. Can scan alot more and alot faster. 10 thumbs up!!!

my centech works great, i cut the speaker wires and added a mini vibrating motor, then while the back was off i adjusted the sensativity pod and gained more depth (i get about 2 or 3" now). after about a month of use the power button seems to act up but i made another trip to radio shack and replaced the power switch with a better sealed switch. for 15 bucks ya can't go wrong and by adding about 6 bucks worth of upgrades this pinpointer is my all time favorite

Thanks for the test that was informative even though there wasn't any talking but still extremely helpful i just got one of those today and it does work pretty good.
