FCPX Advanced Training Series Part 3. In this HD voice tutorial for Apple Final Cut Pro 10, we learn how to add secondary colour / color creations, altering specific ranges of color, as well as adding masks to those ranges. We also look at how to apply keyframes to animate the masks over time incase you having a tracking / panning shot or a moving object / character in frame. REMEMBER to watch the introduction to the color correcting / grading tools inside of FCPX first HERE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSkEKkZWHF4 . We will also use masks in this brand new tutorial to bring out skin tones, enhance the look of the sky and prepare the image for a master control in which we adjust the entire image's color for a specific tone / grade. We also add a vignette format eh effects editor as means giving an even greater cinematic feel!
Until then remember to subscribe and check out my website: http://danallenfilms.com

  • Thanks for very nice tutorials!

Let's say you have multiple clips in the timeline, shot during different days and angles but on the same location. Do you have a nice trick do make every clip unified with the color correcting?

  • I've just subscribed to your channel.....fantastic vids and help!

    Thanks

  • Very useful tutorial Dan. It answered the exact question I had tonight - which was "how do I add color selectively to a video whose original is black and white". The bit about masks and keyframes is what did the trick. You might consider adding "selective colorization" to the tags for this one. Thanks for putting it up!

  • Thanks. Learnt a lot.

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THESE TUTORIALS!!!

  • I've watched about half of your tutorials now and they are amazing! Do you have a paypal account or something where I can kick you some cash for all your help?

  • Excellent tutorial. You make this software intelligible for the rest of us. Thanks for taking the time.
