I've had loads of girlfriends and friends in every nation I've lived in (5 countries) BECAUSE I'm American. (Canadians can't seem to get over Canada.)

How many years did you stay? I'm planning on doing EPIK but I don't know the language and am kinda concerned about being able to buy groceries and simple stuff like that.

I was in Daegu for a bit, there are nice places to stay , depends on how much u want to spend , i stayd in a hotel for 2 months, which sounds ritzy but i got a great deal and i had a clean room all the time and had a kitchen in it too, I was there developing a electronic product which has all since gone upside down , cuz koreans are really sufferring in the economy, have fun through mate, koreans are friendly ppl

i went on a football trip from okinawa to camp walker and just by my experiences, i hated korea. maybe it is better in some ways but the people are just fucking assholes there compared to the japanese.

What school are you teaching at? I got an offer from a school in Daegu that Im really considering. How do you like your experience so far?

I teach at the Yale FOreign Language Institute. They are a pretty big school in Daegu with 5 or 6 different locations. So far (8 months) Korea has been fantastic. Lots to see and do. Day to day life is pretty easy to with lots of western restaurants and English speakers around.
