Iran to Face China in Asian Volleyball Final

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Iranian national volleyball team powered pass India and reached the final match of the Asian Youth Boys' Volleyball Championship.


The Iranian youths overpower India 3-1 at the volleyball stadium in Azadi Sports complex in Tehran on Thursday.

The defending champion will now face China in the final.

After a shaky victory over Chinese Taipei on Wednesday, the Iranian outfit surprised the 2003 champion with an easy 25-15 victory in the first set.

India narrowly won the second set 32-30 but Iran managed to take the third and fourth sets 26-24 and 25-22.

The tournament also doubles as the Qualification Tournaments for the first Youth Olympic Games 2010 in Singapore and for 2011 Boys' Youth World Volleyball Championship.
