@cmsdgeekadmin Because Spriter's Resource (at the time, at least, maybe things have changed) only had rips of Mother 3 attacks, nothing from EarthBound.

The only thing I didn't like was the Zelda thing. But I'd have twilight princess never created for EB. (TP was horrible though)

@princessZelda089 As I've said before, that was never my point.

I wasn't saying Nintendo shouldn't make those other series at all, just that if they can afford to churn out half-assed titles from them, they can and should instead dedicate that part of their budget towards the release of quality games from other series.

But the point is moot, a lot has changed since this video came out. The copyright issues weren't common knowledge, it just looked like NoA was being a jerk.

@kikikara99 I'm not saying the kid had no reason to cry, just that Brawl made him look like a total wuss. And M3 specifically said he was a crybaby several times, I'm not pulling that name out of thin air

Brawl did not do the character justice. Lucas started out as a bit of a wimp, but through the hardships of his life, he became stronger. He even ended up saving the world.

Beleive me, I was even more of a crybaby when I was little than he was. I'm in no place to judge him, and I'm not.

@Gameshark744 Of course it's not too late to release an old game like EB on Virtual Console, that's what the VC is FOR!

Though you do make a point about M3, and it's one that has crossed my mind before. Though there's technically no reason that they can't release Gameboy, GBC, or GBA games on VC (if they can do N64, they can do GBA), they have yet to do so. In the case of GBA games at least, it's possible that they feel it's too soon, or that they couldn't/shouldn't compete with GameStop.

@thefrownwillgetu Their lawyers are paid to keep Nintendo out of trouble, not to win lawsuits if they get in trouble. So, they can't release Earthbound on the VC unless they make changes which you mentioned. But, Nintendo of Japan didn't want to make those changes, because pop-culture references are what make the series. Itoi wouldn't be happy to find out his game was completely different than it should be.

I don't get why they won't make the smart business approach and release a quality game. There is a petition for Majora's Mask for the 3DS, and I completely support it, but if they get enough signatures, it will probably be released. If we were to make a petition and get more than they do to translate MOTHER 3, they would ignore it. If you ask NOA, no matter what you say, they say that they don't have plans to release it at the time. Even if you ask for them to actually listen to their fans.

@subata45 I suppose that's a possibility, but considering the fact that he's about the same size as Ness in Brawl, I kind of doubt it. Ness is supposed to be about 13, and they were designed by the same people.

Plus, Lucas didn't have any of his powers when he was little, remember?
