Drop the whip! You're just teaching the horse to kick and you're going to get hurt. Then, stop talking! Horses don't understand English, why are you using so much of it? Use something like "step up" and a firm voice. Also, stand well off to the side. If you're in his way, the horse might be reluctant to load thinking he'll hurt you. My first horse had to load into the back of an old grain truck that was a good 4-5' off the ground on a ramp 2' wide with no sides Good luck!.

@mrshorse619 its not a wip.. its a fur like thingey (forgot da NAME) which makes him know to go foward. if it was a wip she would have hit the horse as hard as she could and the horse would have ran away..

clearly thats a very stubborn horse lol. but by looking at him ur were challanging him. i know this was four years ago and i hope hes better than this now but you should have backed him up a few steps and walk forward with out hesitation of anysort and dont look at him and just walk into the trailer. he might have needed a little reenforcement but if u ever get another guy like him try that :D

The 'wip' being used isn't for a forceful strike, it's just a brush against his hindquarters to let him know he needs to go forward. Cody was just deciding to be disobedient because he doesn't like picking his legs up to step over stuff to begin with.
