Project Hope Nablus

Who would come to some of the most neglected refugee camps on Earth, and volunteer to teach, and bring smiles to children's faces? Shot on location in Nablus, Palestine, we tell the story of the volunteers who are at the center of Project Hope. During the filming, the City Hall in Nablus was attacked again, jets flew overhead on their way to bomb Lebanon, and the carnage in Gaza continued. In the face of these obstacles, our local and international volunteers continued their work, bringing Nablus and to the camps their message of hope.

hi i've been interested to be part of Project Hope for a while but i still worry a lot about security and i wanted to be fully informed about palestine before heading there.I wanted to know if a person that doesn't speak arabic at all can still be part of the project.i think i could maybe share what i know with the kids, the art class is appelling too. So my question is what we should worry the most and what i should read to understand how it is to be a palestinian.Thanks,Taísa.

Well, I didn't speak a word of Arabic when I went over, and that wasn't a big deal. Most of the volunteers don't really speak Arabic, though you'd definitely pick up a few words, and Arabic classes are usually offered.

There are tons of people there who speak English; I never found communication to be a really big problem.
