Brandy everyone can be a star

I would like to share with all this very rare song which i recorded in Brazil ions ago, back in 1977. I wrote the song(I was 21 at the time) then and ever since i've been trying to re-write it properly, which i have finally accomplished but
only after all these years, yet that's how songwriting really is. To the aspiring songwriters out there I speak from experience that you may have the perfect tune but for it to
become a major hit it needs to be cosmically perfect with the lyrics.....that means that every word must fit the voicing of the melody like a glove in hand, to make it huge, and only the perfect choice of words can fit the musical nuances of a tune. I realize that anyone can make a parody of another song and make any word fit but believe it when you are trying to write a hit song from scratch you will find that only certain sequences of words will fit to make it
$uccesfull....let's re-iterate this again, the most wonderful melody and song will fall flat on its ass unless you have the cosmically correct set of lyrics for it. I reached number 3 with this song and after a very long time and many
compositions later did I realize i had to not only improve on these lyrics but i also needed to write an extra few bars of music to create a bridge and thus now I'll be heading to Vancouver B.C by springtime 2011 to record not just this
song with the updated lyrics but something else with an old friend from high-school...so big that we expect it to go worldwide.
- What i'm trying to really say is that you need to be so focused that nothing shakes your confidence...and if it takes 30 years to write a major hit and reach the world audience well, you must be prepared to be that obssessed. It may take that long to break it truly big, and you're going to need to stick with it. But be realistic too and adapt, if you can't write and it's gift, perhaps you should do covers and there's thousands of songs that one could be covering and make into success again but to those who feel they have what it takes this is my advice. It's doable but a lot of thought must go into it, preparation and pray that the "big guy's"(GOD) seal of approval is upon your forehead otherwise this is not for the faint-hearted. Also don't forget that a good song will always surface, and
as Barbara Streisand quoted: "There comes a time when even the Universe conspires on your behalf, on your side".....good luck to all up and coming future stars of tomorrow....the beatnik
