Why walk when you can drive? This is a Dodge Ram 3500 with portal unimog axels and 54 inch tires driving up a snowhill. Taken 6. feb 2010 near Kerlingarfjöll in Iceland.

  • The other 54" RAM is the one crossing the river in my other video! The suspension under that truck is an X-link to the middle of the car. That Ram is a Megacab.

  • Hello all !, can you post more details about the 54" tires, where did you find those tires? thanks!

  • To my knowledge there isn't a suspension lift as such, rather a custom built 4-link supsension for the Unimog 1300 axles. If I recall correctly, the original gearing ratio is 6,5:1 plus two transfer cases. The crawl ratio is loooowww.

There is another RAM like this here, the only difference is, he has the Unimog's suspension system aswell, propably the best there is. Try google it ;)

  • That's an AWESOME truck! Love that Cummins!

One question though: I watched the river-crossing video and I understand the portal axles and the fender cut-outs, but do you mean there is no suspension lift on that truck at all?

Also, what (I'm sure insane) gearing is he running?
