Electro Harmonix Freeze Sound Retainer Demo on bass

This is a demo for the new EHX Freeze Sound Retainer effect- a very cool little pedal that allows you to freeze/infinitely sustain notes or chords and lets you play over them based on the "freeze" setting of the EHX HOG pedal.

I love that you did this demo on a bass, 90% of pedals that work for guitar or bass never have bass vids so I never know if it would suit a bass! Thanks for the upload and SOLID demo :)!

@Phodie56 Not a problem- a lack of bass demos when I look to buy something is what made me start doing my own. I have a few more I still have to put up.

How does it sound if you freeze will doing some tremelo's?

@koenaad It will capture your trem sound if your rate is going fast enough. It takes a very small sample size, so a slower trem rate won't capture well.

this would have been better and I would have not turned it off if you either had clean socks on or some type of shoe to cover that yellowing sock ; I guess that was the funk part of the video

Interesting pedal. I think it would be way more fun with a pitch shifter function though. I got kind of antsy waiting for your narrative segue to end, not to be a d*** but I wanted to hear the pedal. And your socks are fine.

Nice review! I was really curious to see what a bassist could do with it, and you certainly didn't disappoint. Since getting one it's become one of my all time favorite pedals, and I can't imagine being without it in my setup. Definitely worth every penny if you're considering buying one.
