  • You are wrong! In some countries (Germany for example) the Sunbeam was named Simca-Talbot Sunbeam. Check out some car brochures on my website to see it.

  • we call it in u.s omni made by chrysler

  • did anyone spot the deliberate mistake? how did that Mazda 323 get in there lol

  • I had a red Sunbeam with a Ti engine with twin 40s and the Ti front spolier and seats similar to the one in the vid. Really miss that car it was wonderful. It was a Chrysler built just before they became Talbot.

Still hankering after a Sunbeam Lotus :(

  • Chrysler Roots group did the Sunbeam, Chrysler's French Simca did the Horizon, They both had similar front styling.

  • Avenger was also built in Ryton Coventry. The Sunbeam was not built down here, neither was the Imp, but the Sunbeam was designed in Whitley Coventry, the site is now used by Jaguar, where they recently drew the XF.

  • beautiful car.

  • Thank you for correcting me. I didn't know that it had been badged as a Simca in some other countries. However, it is true that the Sunbeam was based on the Avenger - most of the components were from the Avenger. It was built in Linwood, Scotland, in the same factory as the Avenger. I passed my driving test in a Chrysler Sunbeam, and later I bought one of my own - a 1.3 LS. It was a great car - I loved it!

    Nice website by the way!

  • Simca had nothing to do with the Chrysler Sunbeam. That was the Chrysler Horizon. The Sunbeam was just a re-modelled Avenger.
