Tonight, about 60 people, including Dr Jeyakumar's parents and sister joined the candlelight vigil outside Bukit Aman, to call for the immediate and unconditional release of the PSM 6 detainees. They have been rearrest under the Emergency Ordinance (EO) for 20 days, since 2nd July.

According to the affidavits reply by the police, the six were detained because they were suspected to be the "movers" of Bersih 2.0. Hence their detention is necessary to keep the public order. However, this has been vehemently rejected by the Bersih 2.0 steering committee, as Bersih 2.0 is purely a civil society initiative without any interference from the political parties. On the other hand, the de facto Law Minister, Datuk Nazri claimed that the detention was due to the "act of reviving communism".

This is the 14th candlelight vigils that has been held at Bukit Aman ever since the detention of the 6 PSM members. Rain or shine, supporters have been coming consistently for the past two weeks before and after the Bersih 2.0 rally.

Under the watchful eyes of the police and the Special Bunch, a PSM member updated the participants about the current status of the case. Suaram coordinator, Nalini called for the supporters to be at the Hebeas Corpus hearing at Duta Court tomorrow at 9am. She also invite them to join a peacefully rally at Bukit Aman to demand justice for the EO6 while PSM and SUARAM hand over a memorandum to the IGP at 3pm tomorrow.

At the candlelight vigil tonight, participants were given manila card to write "creative message" to the IGP. These messages will be handed over to the IGP together with the memorandum tomorrow.

Aunty Anne was spotted in the crowd tonight. She wants the PSM 6 to be released, saying that "My heart feels for people in solitary confinement, being blind folded. My heart feels for this injustice. I cannot stand injustice." She further questioned the need for EO since Malaysia is no longer in Emergency now.

The vigil ended with a poem recited by Dr. Nasir and the song Suara Rakyat.
