"Opie" is a 13-foot reptilian model of an Ophthalmosaurus, a type of Jurassic-era Ichthyosaur at Western Illinois University's Museum of Geology, located in Tillman Hall 118 on the WIU-Macomb campus.
This video shows how Bob Johnson, curator of WIU's Museum of Geology, along with some WIU students, conceptualized and constructed the model over a three-year period.
