Just got this to work by using the windows media encoder first then running it through handbrake! Thanks! saved me from buying a mac!

I found I have to use MPEG streamclip but the problem with it is, it is converting the file to 4 times its original size however at least it is enabling me to stream them. Does anyone have an idea on how to reduce file size with mpeg streamclip?

@jdyken I had the same problem. I ran it through the free Windows Media Encoder (which stripped the format error) and Handbrake will work on it...however I found that it was easier to just strip the format and then run it through Wondershare on my MAC...it was cheap (less than $40) and converted it nicely to an M4V file.

Handbrake no longer works with GoToWebinar wmv files. I get an error "Your Source may be copy protected, badly mastered or in a format which HandBrake does not support."

I get the same error - it looks like the folks who put the codec together don't want people mucking about with their videos...
WHY do people insist on reinventing the wheel and making their clients lives miserable?
Bastards, all of them =)

Have you tried this with a gotomeeting video lately? All I get is an error stating that the gotomeeting file is not in a format Handbrake supports. Gotomeeting files require a special codec, they are not straightforward wmv's. Maybe they added a new encryption to stop us from converting?
