My sunny morning starts off on a good note! CN's Oil Local, the L54391 (or L539 for short), heads north through Lockport, IL. IC (CN) GP38-2 9625 is leading, followed by GTW GP38-2 5847. 9625's P5 sounds great.

Before I knew it, I was on New Avenue, headed for my next location to capture the Oil Local. I ran into Andrewsaxamophone as I arrived. I like how this one turned out. Here, the train switches Citgo Petroleum. He was here for a few hours, due to Amtrak interference and frozen switch problems. Filmed in Lemont.

Good old AMTK 90200 is still earning its keep on the CN Joliet Sub, as it highballs through Lemont, IL., with the inbound Lincoln Service #302. AMTK 29 is providing all the work at the rear.

AMTK 124 highballs north through Lemont, with the inbound Texas Eagle, shortly after exiting the historic, downtown area.

Right behind the Texas Eagle was the Oil Local, finished up with its work and home free for Glenn Yard. Farewell for today good buddy. Hopefully, we'll catch you again in daylight soon.

Back home in Joliet, we see southbound, UP Will County Loads passing under I-55. UP 6938 and 7563 have the honors today, with 6506 as the DPU. In a few miles, this train would stop on the main to make a crew change.

Right behind the Will County Loads was a BNSF vehicle train, powered by BNSF 4351 and 4698, headed south for the BNSF connection, not too far up ahead. Due to the Will County Loads sitting on the main, this train was traveling at a restricted speed and would take the siding at Turner. DS25 also wasn't ready for this train on the Chilli Sub, so this train wound up spending the rest of its daylight in the siding.

JSW1 (L509) was not far behind the BNSF vehicle train. Thankfully, I picked the right crossing to capture him at, as he put on a nice show, with some run 8 and Leslie RS3L action. EJ&E SD38-2 675 is in charge. By this time, the Will County Loads had started to slowly move. After JSW1 passed this location, the train really began to slow down. JSW1 very slowly advanced south, right on the heels of the UP, the entire way to the yard.

Due to its slow speed, this gave me ample time to get to Gaylord Road, for another shot.

Luckily, I had plenty of time to get to Oakland Avenue as well, for yet another shot. Luck was really on my side this evening.
