Anyone can ride english, western pleasure that is an art.

@SuperEZ1994 That is so true. I've done Hacking and English, but when I started training for Western I found it 10x harder than both English disciplines put together. And much more fun :)

Western Pleasure takes a ton of training and hard work, the only people who don't appreciate it's difficulty are the ones who have never had to train a WP horse.

it might not be fun to watch but western pleasure is a lot like dressage in that the rider has to look completely still the whole time when really, they're giving commands the entire time they're on. i've been riding western and english my whole life and i find western to be harder because of how precise it has to be. when done correctly of course

Yeah!
My 2 1/2yo has an english head set so it has to drop about 2 inchs so that is taking a little time and i have to slow down his trot to a jog and then he needs to learn to take the lope faster. hey but at least he can stop on a dime.

in western pleasure u have to have a relaxed horse i do it because the gates feel good but i dont compete watching it makes u want to gag urslef with a spoon

Its very hard to do if you havent ridden this way before. Western Pleasure horses have so many buttons and you hit the wrong one you blow the whole ride.

WP is one of the most difficult disciplines to train for. as a hunter/jumper and a dressage rider, i started wp and found it much, much harder than any english discipline.

lol the most boring part of the western pleasure horse is showing in yours eyes but to the wp riders it takes alot of hard work and determination to reach a high level of this class, most people think its boring till they get into it and they realize how hard it really is .. takes alot of money a solid horse and deep traing periods to reach top level.
