The original one in 1958 was the best. This one was a campy tongue in cheek sequel which was no better than one of those 'movie of the week' things. The 1988 blob was like the blob on steroids, too over the top and so very typical 80's movie that padded the story with sex and gore. The originals are always better. Nothing can beat it.
