At 5:18 the two phrases "Imagine a car which is ecological" and "I don't know anyone who can come" don't necessarily seem to evoke a will, wish, obligation or doubt to me. Would the sentence always be "je ne connais personne qui puisse venir" or could it be "je ne connais personne qui peut venir"? It seems like... I don't know anyone who can come... is a definite statement whereas... I'm not sure I know anyone who can come....would be a doubtful subjunctive statement.

@shotscarolan Hi, well, actually both are possible depending on what you mean. If you are sure that nobody will come, you can say je ne connais personne qui peut venir (it also means that you won't make any effort to find some), you could also use the future: je ne connais personne qui pourra venir). however if you are not sure and you want to check afterwards if someone can come you will use the subjunctive.

So, if i understand correctly, we say "Je crois qu'il est libre" (there's nothing like Will,wish,obligation,doubt) but the negative form appears to express a DOUBT, thus we use "Je ne crois pas qu'il SOIT libre". Even if it's the same verb "croire". The same: "Je pense u'il peut faire ça." but "Je ne pense pas qu'il PUISSE faire ça". Correct?

@piperchangisanass Je veux t'aller is the translation word for word of I want you to go, and here "you" is the object of your sentence and the subject of to go and in French we don't say je veux toi aller (it is not correct French, actually babies speak like that) instead we use the subjunctive, there is no explanation it is just a difference between the two languages (it is the same in Spanish and Italian, we need the subjunctive)! hope it ll help!

@AaronWallace if you want to say, now, I hoped you were younger: j'espérais que tu étais plus jeune and for the future j'espere que tu seras plus jeune (we do not use the subjonctive after esperer que)

En plus, est-ce que "je ne veux pas jeter mon baguette dans la mer" est traduit dans la façon que je pense?

Peux je dire "J'espere que tu soit plus jeune"? Ou est-ce qu'il faut d'ultiliser le negatif pour une phrase comme cela?
